Mem­bers­hip fees

VFÍ membership fees are a fixed annual amount, not a percentage of salary (which is the standard model in most Icelandic unions). The fee level is comparatively low.

The membership fee is ISK 45,000 per year (equal to ISK 3,750 per month).

The fee for the upcoming year is determined at the VFÍ Annual General Meeting.

The following members do not pay membership fees:

  • Members living abroad.
  • Young members.
  • Full-time students.
  • Honorary members.
  • Members aged 70+.
  • Retired members aged 65+.
